2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV: All-New, Improved

2022 Chevy Bolt EV

How good is the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV? While many electric cars are struggling to gain traction, this new Chevy model is popular enough that it no longer qualifies for a federal EV tax credit. Good news, though: besides being redesigned for a new model year, it’s also $5,500 less expensive than before.

2022 Chevrolet Bolt Performance

The 2022 Chevy Bolt offers 259 miles of range, per EPA estimates. It’s powered by an electric motor that’s good for 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Unlike a gas engine, there’s no “torque curve” here; it’s all available from a standstill, making the drive surprisingly engaging.

The exterior is redesigned, with a new look and a slight change in dimensions. Beneath its exterior, there’s support for AC Level 2 charging and DC fast charging, making it easier to get to a full charge. You can also goose your range with regenerative braking and single-pedal driving — your Schaumburg Chevy dealer will explain it all to you.

2022 Chevrolet Bolt Interior

The new Chevy Bolt interior gets a more modern look, but that’s not all. The seats are upgraded for more comfort. The eight-inch infotainment display is gone, replaced by a 10.2-inch display with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® standard. And the exterior re-proportioning results in more passenger space, but it also leads to a boost in cargo volume, which now ranges between 16.6 and 57 cubic feet.

2022 Chevrolet Bolt Safety and Special Features

As good as the powertrain and technology are, another reason we think you’ll be impressed is the Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver assist aids.

Combining features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator and IntelliBeam headlights, it helps keep you safe and sound. And did we mention that those features are all standard?
